A New Designer Debuts at Fashion Week:

It’s Barbie!–this is totally fulfillng my inner 5 year old’s dreams…

So  I thought this was something kind of interesting. The show was appropriately titled the ” Barbie Dream Closet,” where attendees entered a life size Barbie dream house. There were 6 life size barbies  (Black Barbie Doll (ca.1980) had on Alexander McQueen and CEO Barbie (ca. 1985) was  Dolce & Gabbana  and  Original Teenage Fashion Model Barbie (ca. 1959), doning a swimsuit of course). Here are a few pictures I was able to find:

Manolos for all!

So I have some pretty great news to share. Manolo Blahnik is collaborating with J. Crew on a line of “their classic BB style heels, in prints and colorways exclusive to J.Crew.” Figures on prices have not yet been released, but I can only imagine them being more affordable than an original Manolo Blahnik pair of shoes.

So whos excited?

For some reason, I think the Manolo for J. Crew Collection will be better received than the Kobe Levi shoes from yesterdays post…lol

Let me know what you think!

On the Radar: New Shoe Collection by Rachel Roy

Following in the steps of her mentor, Manolo Blahnik, designer Rachel Roy will be able to tack “shoe designer,” to her name.  The Shoes line will consist of about 30 styles and will be availabe for purchase in August of this year. Judging by what we can see from these photos we can expect to see clean lines, color blocking, leather and suede…some pretty sweet styles. Rachel says, “I don’t want shoes unless they are strong and sexy. I don’t want them to be just strong or just sexy,” says Roy. “[A strong and sexy look] represents the woman I want to be.”

Interesting, I couldn’t agree with her more!  I love her clothing and look forward to checking out those sexy and strong shoes. Will you??

Designer Collection for Target (Jason Wu)

An effort to broaden their popularity among young girls and women who’d like to snag some designer wear, Target continues its collaboration with various designers (…no one can forget the infamous Missoni for Target line towards the end of 2011)  Feb. 5th will be the offical launch of the Jason Wu for Target Line and hopefully Target has got their ish together because there are some pretty pieces that I am sure will go quickly. What do you guys think of the designer for target lines?
