Drool worthy….a Weekend Treat :)

Two things that I could not get enough of today…Dior’s ballerina themed collection from Paris and Red Nina Ricci ankle strapped pumps with jewel details. I am LOVING it.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE these shoes…definitely something I would wear during the winter holidays…and the Jewels make them so much more festive.

And this…so beautiful

What do you guys think of the tea length skirts? I think thay are a nice alternative to the formal floor length. I think it all looks really refreshing, light and airy. Can’t wait to see more!

Opinions? I’d love to hear them!

Have a great weekend 🙂

FASHION WEEK: the color blocking continues

T-G-I-F Friends! So yesterday I was off from work..which basically meant that I was catching up on the rest of my life (sleeping, doctors appointments, laundry, trashy reality TV…etc..etc). I did get a chance to check out some recaps from Fashion Week and I must say I like what I see!

One of the trends I am loving right now is color blocking,  particularly from BCBG. Here are some of my favorite picks:

…and then what did I sneak at the end….a BEAUTIFUL coat…accented in LEATHER. Of COURSE. 🙂 I know, I just couldn’t help myself!

Thoughts?? I look foward to hearing from you!

Fall Fashion Week Sketches

One of my favorite things about fashion/design, other than actual articles of clothing or accessories, are the actual sketches. Looking at a sketch you can decifer the style, the mood, and attitude and really get into the head of the designer/artist.  I came across some really cool sketches from this year’s Fall Fashion Week and thought you guys may enjoy. I love looking at sketches from different designers to see the different shapes and sketching styles, its pretty neat. Let me know what you think:

 Rachel Roy and Anna Sui

 Dennis Basso and Elie Tahari
** in thisDennis Basso sketch I particularly love the movement of the coat. Its really beautiful.

 Kimberly Ovitz & Nannette Lepore

Love these sketches! What do you guys think? Do you find them inspiring as well?

ANNA. DELLO. RUSSO.

I am back! After a couple crazy days, I am back and ready to talk FASHION.

So in the midst of what has begun as a crazy week, I needed something uplifting in my life right now…something to give me a little chuckle.

ENTER ANNA DELLO RUSSO. Its about time for another ADR post anyway. I love this crazy woman.

Of course the outfit would’nt be complete without what I sure is a diamond encrusted Tiara..and feathers! 🙂 So the picture shown above was paired with the quote below, regarding how MS.ADR prepares for NY Fashion Week:

“I prepare the looks and the luggage at the end of October. I already chose the best coats, and I saved for Fashion Week. I have a Balenciaga, really bright purple. Then I have an orange floral coat by Prada, and a really intense green velvet coat by Tom Ford. Not black. Anything but black! What I packed is many coats, boots, a clutch, and some evening party dresses – really short. Then I will bring some hats because New York is a really open-minded city. They say, ‘Oh that’s a good look!’ They encourage.

I went to India at Christmastime to prepare my body with yoga, swim, sunshine, also meditation and Ayurvedic massage. I like so much to be well done, you know, all perfect. I like now kind of red-orange chinois for the nails. And then I keep a little tan on my legs, because when I go to shows I don’t wear socks. I do body makeup.”

Nothing like a little insight/boarderline crazy-town comments from Ms. Dello Russo to brighten your day! I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Dior @ Paris Couture Fashion Week 2012

Dior pleased crowds at the Paris Couture Fashion Week with beautiful, luxurious fabrics, sleek lines and intricate craftsmanship. Here is a peek of what the lucky attendees saw on the runway:

This year Bill Gaytten stood in as the fashion houses’ designer after John Galliano’s was ousted for his anti-semtic rants last year. I think this was a strong comeback and very promising line. I am really enjoying the dress to the far right with all the layers, and the dress to the far left. The writing around the skirt gives it a playful feel.

Any thoughts? Any and all feedback is appreciated! 🙂 I look forward to hearing your opinions!
