Monday morning SAG Awards Roundup…The good, bad, and confused!

Morning!

So Last night, about a half hour before my nyquill induced coma,  I was able to catch the red-carpet portion of the SAG Awards. While I was delighted as a lot of  stars made their way down the red carpet donning gorgeous jewel toned and metallic gowns, there were a few distastful pics that, well, straight up horrified me. Check out my picks below (not in any particular order):

1 Viola Davis in Marchesa. She Looks flawless! Viola is glowing and looks so confident and comfortable. Marchesa definitely makes dresses for real women with real bodies. She looks great.

2 Rose Byrne in Ellie Saab. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the jumper. Rose Byrne and such great individualistic style. She is not afraid to push boundries and be different. Plus check out the the detailing…she looks great!

3 Sofia Vergara in Marchesa. Another great Marchesa gown…like I said great gowns for real women.  The one thing I love about Sofia is that she wears the gown, she never lets the gown wear her. Love those curves!!

4 Ashlee Simpson is Jenny Packham. Ashlee has been out of the public eye for some time now, but it was a pleasant suprise to see her out in this gorgeous ensemble. I love the detailing, and the little sheer cape on this dress. Also, her accessories and hair worked perfectly with dress. She had this mysterious, almost old hollywood look to her. I loved it.

5 Octavia Spencer in Tadashi Shoji. Octavia looks stunning! This woman knows how to pull off a beautiful and tasteful gown. She is showing the world that you don’t have to show skin to be sexy. She really looks great and you can tell she feels beautiful too, which makes it even better.

6 Maya Rudolph. I love Maya Rudolph, but I don’t love this dress. There is just nothing flattering about this. She is such a funny, beautiful and talented woman, and yet she cannot choose a dress that flatters her.

7 Jessica Chaistain in Calvin Klein. For such a beautiful woman, she looks so boring in this dress. The color is great on her, but thats about it. It didn’t do much for her body, maybe some accessories would’ve helped? It just looks like outfit is missing something.

8 Lea Michele in Versace. Okay, this is my problem with Lea Michele, she is 25 years old and thinks she is a superstar. Yes, you star in a hit show, but you haven’t made it that big yet.  This dress is very sexy, maybe too sexy, and it shows that she thinks she is in fact very sexy. I think she needs to take a step back, get that ridiculous look off her face and wear something more appropriate. Maybe she can take a few pointers from our girl Octavia, you don’t need to show the world the “goods” to get a response. (also, take a look back from her golden globe dress, again, leaving nothing to the imagination).

Okay guys, well those are my picks! Thoughts? do you agree or disagree? I look forward to hearing from you all!

Its Monday…back to reality! Plus Golden Globe roundup

Happy Monday! Hope you all had a relaxing weekend…unfortunately its back to reality and back to work. So the 2012 Golden Globes were about a week ago, and I just now finally had time to digest all of the lovely dresses! I couldn’t pick one, but here are my favorites (not in any particular order)…and well for comic relief here are some of the ones that made me want to ask “WTF ?!?!??” Any opinions?? If you have some, I’d love to hear.

Emma Stone in Lanvin…Amazing. Love the small cap sleeve and the details of the belt, its looks unique and freshwhich is really characteristic of her.

Claire Danes in J. Mendel. Love the details on the dress and the unexpected open back. Its definitely a fun dress and even a little edgy for Claire Danes.

Jessica Alba in Gucci. Such a beautiful dress. The intricate beading is beautiful and the soft violet color looks great on Jessica.

Sofia Vergara in Vera Wang. Sexy Mama who is not afraid to show those curves. Enough said.

Salma Hyek in Gucci. Another Sexy Mama! She keeps getting better with age, she looks stunning.

Okay, now for WTF?!?!

EvanRachel Wood in Gucci. Okay, well this isn’t a fair WTF choice because well, the dress is actually pretty cool. I just can’t stand the site of this woman. She gives me the creeps!–Maybe freely dating Marilyn Manson has something to do with it. So odd.

Frieda Pinto in Prada. I am a HUGE fan of Prada, Miuccia is my homegirl..really. BUT, I just can’t say many nice things about this dress. The waistline and excess material around her sides just did not do her any favors, and don’t get me wrong she is a very beautiful woman. Okay, i take back my first comment, the color was nice, the only good thing… 🙂

Zooey Deschanel in Prada and Van Cleef & Arpels. I REALLY love Zooey Deschanel, love the New Girl, love the quirkiness, and love her music, and I really wanted to love this dress… but  I don’t. I just don’t. This skirt of the dress is fine, but the top is not. Love green…its actually my favorite color, but not here. Nope, I would have liked to see her in something softer and feminine.
