Oscar Round Up!

The Oscars came and went…and what did yours truly do on Oscar Sunday? I had a HUGE fashion fail. I FELL ASLEEP.
<gasp here>
I know.  To my disapointment I missed the whole thing.  Red Carpet, Awards Ceremony. All of it. Not that this is a valid excuse, but I was still recovering from being sick all week.
Needless to say I am thankful for all of the internet coverage on the Oscars so I was able to catch up and see the lovely gowns. I was pretty pealsantly suprised, nothing crazy or out of the ordinary, unless you count Sasha Baron Cohen’s act as “The Dictator.”

Now for my picks (not in any particular order):

 My absolute favorite has to be Angelina Jolie, what an improvement from her Golden Globes Dress.
So what do you guys think? I’d love to hear your opinions!

Monday morning SAG Awards Roundup…The good, bad, and confused!

Morning!

So Last night, about a half hour before my nyquill induced coma,  I was able to catch the red-carpet portion of the SAG Awards. While I was delighted as a lot of  stars made their way down the red carpet donning gorgeous jewel toned and metallic gowns, there were a few distastful pics that, well, straight up horrified me. Check out my picks below (not in any particular order):

1 Viola Davis in Marchesa. She Looks flawless! Viola is glowing and looks so confident and comfortable. Marchesa definitely makes dresses for real women with real bodies. She looks great.

2 Rose Byrne in Ellie Saab. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the jumper. Rose Byrne and such great individualistic style. She is not afraid to push boundries and be different. Plus check out the the detailing…she looks great!

3 Sofia Vergara in Marchesa. Another great Marchesa gown…like I said great gowns for real women.  The one thing I love about Sofia is that she wears the gown, she never lets the gown wear her. Love those curves!!

4 Ashlee Simpson is Jenny Packham. Ashlee has been out of the public eye for some time now, but it was a pleasant suprise to see her out in this gorgeous ensemble. I love the detailing, and the little sheer cape on this dress. Also, her accessories and hair worked perfectly with dress. She had this mysterious, almost old hollywood look to her. I loved it.

5 Octavia Spencer in Tadashi Shoji. Octavia looks stunning! This woman knows how to pull off a beautiful and tasteful gown. She is showing the world that you don’t have to show skin to be sexy. She really looks great and you can tell she feels beautiful too, which makes it even better.

6 Maya Rudolph. I love Maya Rudolph, but I don’t love this dress. There is just nothing flattering about this. She is such a funny, beautiful and talented woman, and yet she cannot choose a dress that flatters her.

7 Jessica Chaistain in Calvin Klein. For such a beautiful woman, she looks so boring in this dress. The color is great on her, but thats about it. It didn’t do much for her body, maybe some accessories would’ve helped? It just looks like outfit is missing something.

8 Lea Michele in Versace. Okay, this is my problem with Lea Michele, she is 25 years old and thinks she is a superstar. Yes, you star in a hit show, but you haven’t made it that big yet.  This dress is very sexy, maybe too sexy, and it shows that she thinks she is in fact very sexy. I think she needs to take a step back, get that ridiculous look off her face and wear something more appropriate. Maybe she can take a few pointers from our girl Octavia, you don’t need to show the world the “goods” to get a response. (also, take a look back from her golden globe dress, again, leaving nothing to the imagination).

Okay guys, well those are my picks! Thoughts? do you agree or disagree? I look forward to hearing from you all!
